October 1 is the International Day of Older Persons

The United Nations recognizes October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons!

The National Council on Aging ("NCOA") is urging individuals and elder rights organizations to work on issues related to Elder Abuse and Neglect.  Elder Financial Abuse is recognized as "the crime of the 21st Century" by the National Council on Aging.  If you would like to learn more about this issue, there is a film entitled An Age for Justice: Confronting Elder Abuse in America.  It is produced by the National Council on Aging and Witness.  This powerful film shows the families and individuals whose lives have been impacted by elder abuse.

On The National Council on Aging website, there are many ideas on how you can get involved and make a difference.  For more information, please visit the NCOA website -   http://www.ncoa.org/press-room/press-release/national-broadcast-of-elder.html
