On September 11, 2014, I am pleased to be presenting at the membership meeting for the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Professionals regarding the complementary nature of financial service professionals and estate planning attorneys and the importance of utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach.

This interactive presentation will review the basic Estate Planning documents needed for incapacity planning and for distribution of assets upon death.  The concepts will be applied by utilizing the facts of three estate planning cases, such as the issues that a small business owner with minor children faces, planning for blending families, and the issues that arise after the death of a spouse.  This discussion will illustrate the issues that typically arise and possible solutions.  There will be a discussion about the importance and effectiveness of using a team to solve issues and create a well-rounded Estate Plan.

In honor of life insurance month, the importance of life insurance as an effective way for individuals to provide and protect their families and provide gifts for charities will be discussed.
