Elder Abuse Presentation
On June 30, 2011, I was one of the panelists discussing elder financial abuse. This multidisciplinary panel will include a geriatric care manager, Susan Harlan and a clinical psychologist, Ginger Martire. Our discussion focused on the signs of abuse, different kinds of abuse, how to report abuse, and information about support groups and resources available.

This event will include 100 health, wellness, safety and recreation exhibitors. There will be a 5k Run/2k Walk, Teddy Bear Clinic, Climbing Wall, Petting Zoo, and Kayaking! We will provide a resource booth on Estate Planning.

3rd Annual Senior Health Fair and Walk
Eastridge Mall
On May 21, 2011, I sponsored a booth at Councilmember Rose Herrera's 3rd Annual Senio Health Fair and Walk. I provided participants with information about Estate Planning. There were 50 other resources booths who also provided information and resources.

Baby Boomer Senior Expo
On May 7, 2011, I gave a presentation at the Baby Boomer Senior Expo regarding Estate Planning. The presentation was entitled Planning for the Seasons. I discussed the planning considerations that one should consider before completing an Estate Plan. The presentation discussed the objectives of an effective Estate Plan, the consequences of not having an Estate Plan, and the differences between a Will and Living Trust.

Advance Health Care Directive Presentation
Fundraiser for the American Red Cross
On April 20, 2011, April 23, 2011, and April 30, 2011, I held Advance Health Care Directive presentations. At these presentations, I discussed the importance of advance planning.
For a suggested donation of $25 to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund, I provided a consultation and preparation of an Advance Health Care Directive. I would like to thank everyone who participated and donated to this worthy cause!

Morgan Hill Senior Center
On April 19, 2011, I gave a presentation at the Morgan Hill Senior Center regarding advance planning. My presentation discussed the importance of advance planning from a legal perspective. Additionally, Janeen Pratt of Pathways Home Health and Hospice gave a presentation regarding advance planning from her perspective as a senior care professional. There were 80 attendees at this event.

On April 15, 2011, I had a resource booth at the 6th Annual West Valley Senior Walk. This annual event was sponsored by Councilmembers Pete Constant of District 1 and Pierluigi Oliverio of District 6. This event provides seniors with a healthy breakfast, information, and exercise.

On February 11, 2011, at Oakridge Mall, I provided a resource booth on estate planning. The event was sponsored by Councilmember Nancy Pyle and Councilmember Ash Kalra. Our resource table provided seniors with helpful information regarding legal and financial issues.

Presentation: Estate Planning 101
I provided three presentations regarding Estate Planning to the Better Breathers Clubs located in Palo Alto, Morgan Hill, and San Jose. During these presentations, I discussed the differences between a Will and Living Trust. I also discussed the functions of basic Estate Planning documents, such as the Financial Power of Attorney, Advance Health Directive, and Pour-Over Will.

On May 26, 2010, I sponsored a booth at the Small Business Resource Fair at the San Jose City Hall Rotunda. The Fair provided information to small business owners, entrepeneurs, and job seekers. At my resource booth, I offered information regarding Estate Planning.

San Jose Children's Fair
On April 24, 2010, at Discovery Park in San Jose, I attended the San Jose Children's Fair. The Fair was sponsored by the City of San Jose and provided information to parents about health and social programs. There were activities for the children which included Arts, Crafts, and a climbing wall.
I was proud to participate as one of the resource booths. I provided information about guardianships and other Estate Planning issues.

West Valley Senior Walk
On April 9, 2010, at Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, Councilmember Pete Constant sponsored a Senior Walk and Resource Fair. There was a walk around the mall, breakfast, and information on a variety of community resources and programs. I provided a resource fair in which I provided estate planning advice to the participants.
